Restore the Hope Open House: Help Faith’s Lodge Replant and RecoverState Farm Donates $10,000 to Help Replant Trees

WHO:   Faith’s Lodge guests, supporters, friends and families WHAT: People are invited to help Restore the Hope at Faith’s Lodge by purchasing and planting a tree in honor or in memory of a special child in their life. A devastating storm hit Faith’s Lodge on July 1, 2011. The main building, housing a resource library and gathering spaces, suffered only minor damage. But the surrounding 80 acres, providing families with plentiful paths and quiet spaces to reflect, grieve and heal, were wiped out. Thousands of trees need to be planted on the grounds this fall and next spring to begin restoring the peace and serenity that Faith’s Lodge offers its guests.
State Farm will kick off the tree replanting effort with a $10,000 grant to be presented Saturday by Agent Corey Arnold. “The grant reflects the State Farm commitment to helping people recover from the unexpected,” said Elizabeth Tharp, Vice President State Farm for Wisconsin. “The storm damage at Faith’s Lodge was a terrible loss. We’re pleased to help restore this special place for families seeking peace.”
Note to reporters – Excellent photo opportunity as Faith’s Lodge supporters dig holes for new trees and plant new trees as well as help clear brush etc. on Faith’s Lodge property. Many past Faith’s Lodge families will be there planting trees in memory or honor of their children.

ABOUT FAITH’S LODGE: Faith’s Lodge provides a place where parents and families facing the serious illness or death of a child can retreat to reflect on the past, renew strength for the present, and build hope for the future. Faith’s Lodge provides a peaceful escape for families to refresh their minds and spirits while spending time with others who understand what they are experiencing. Prior to the July 1 storm, the Northwoods setting of Faith’s Lodge was a large part of that peaceful experience. Now, Faith’s Lodge is beginning in the process of Restoring the Hope to the grounds and trails.
